The first day, four-ons downloaded 7.1 million times
The launch of Mozilla Firefox 4 has just executed. Mozilla itself felt very satisfied with the results achieved within 24 hours. Firefox 4 has been downloaded 7.1 million times on the first day after the launch. These results are far better than either Firefox 3.6 or Firefox 3.5. However, these results did not managed to beat the current record holder, Firefox 3.0 has been downloaded 8.3 million times in the same time.
"Firefox 4 for desktop just launched and we are very pleased to report that within 24 hours after launch, our browser has been downloaded 7.1 million times," wrote Gary Kovacs, Mozilla CEO in his official blog. Kovacs continued that these results are in addition to more than 3 million people who already run the release candidate of the final version of Firefox 4.
In the next few weeks, Firefox also will enter the realm of mobile to Android and Maemo. Firefox to a good start, this browser gets one million downloads within the first few hours and download rates over 5,000 per minute. It's not enough to topple the current record holder, but still made an impressive beginning for the latest and greatest Firefox.
The results show that substantial number of downloads increases. North America and Europe is an area that lead from the first day. Of course, it's probably because Europeans are only now waking up. There are nearly six million downloads from Europe and only 4.5 million of North America, while Asia with 2.5 million. In comparison, Firefox 3.6 has been downloaded 17 million times in its first week. It is possible that Firefox 4 will beat only in the first two days
